Linn Presbyterian Church 

There are two branches or ministries of the Deacons at Linn:

The Hospitality Branch and The Pastoral Care Branch.

The Deacons are the face of the ministry of hospitality at Linn. They not only host our Perk ’n Pour, but create the atmosphere in our Narthex and Fellowship Hall celebrations. The Deacons also work with the Youth & Family Ministries Team to host the annual Fall Picnic. This year the picnic will be renamed Fall Fest and will be open to the public.

The Deacons also host Frieda’s Café at Linn’s Rummage Sales. Frieda’s Café is created in the Narthex and Fireplace area of the church. For a free will offering that goes to the charity of the Deacon’s choice, you can enjoy a sweet treat, coffee, hot dog lunch and other goodies. You can sit and relax in between shopping and visit with members of Linn. Frieda’s Café is named for member and deacon, Frieda D. Johnsen and celebrates her famous hospitality and features her carrot coconut cake.

The second branch of the Deacons specializes in the support of Pastoral Care in the congregation. Deacons visit members who cannot get to church, calls to check in on the sick and keep in touch with all the members by cards for special occasions. Their ministry makes the passages about Deacons in the Book of Acts, chapter 6, verses 3 and 4, come alive.
